The Ship
The cruise ship which we are due to board in (a little less than) 6 days (EEK!) is a medium-sized vessel carrying a maximum of ~2501 passengers, but ~ 2142 passengers at double occupancy. Built in June 1998 and renovated in 2013, the Brilliance of the Seas belongs to the Royal Caribbean Cruise Ltd.’s Radiance Class and is valued at $350 Million! The maiden voyage occurred Christmas 2001.
The framework of this Panamax vessel includes 13 decks (Deck Plans can be viewed here, 9 restaurants (Including 4 specialty restaurants which can be viewed here), a three-story cinema, main pool area (pictured above!), mini-golf-course, race track, and rock-climbing wall. If these amenities are not tempting enough, the ship also boasts various entertainment options including a spa, casino, shopping mall, fitness classes (I have my eyes fixed on Zumba!!!), poolside movies, and broadway-style theatre performances.
Our personal package includes an interior stateroom. Our room will be approximately 170 sq. ft., including a private bathroom and two twin beds which will convert into royal king beds.
